Subic Bay Freeport Zone (SBMA)

Before it was developed into a tax and duty free zone, the Subic Bay Freeport (or simply just Subic Bay) was the first successful military base.

Subic Bay is the first free port in the Philippines and continues to be one of the country’s major economic engines with more than 700 investment projects, including the 4th largest shipbuilding facility in the world.

They are currently upgrading their port facilities and through the Subic Bay Port Development Project are forging ties with the Clark Special Economic Zone in Pampanga to build the  Subic-Clark corridor, via a 45-kilometer Subic-Clark toll road.

As a destination on its own, Subic Bay continues to maintain its allure for tourists and investors.
